Chapter Ten

His soft lips closed over mine, and I felt like he’d drugged me. The storm raging outside, and the souls swimming in the bottom of the eerie pool were whisked from my mind. Every wonderful sensation brought on by the taste of his lips magnified in other parts of my body. His mouth slanted across mine, his tongue slipping past my inexperience. The velvety softness of his lips, combined with the rasp of his tongue, drew a purr from my core.

A blush stole over my body.

Kieran diverted his lips off to the side near my cheek. “I don’t just want to kiss you, Olivia,” he murmured in my ear, before taking my lobe in between his teeth. I pressed my lips together to keep from moaning. “Do you understand what I’m asking?”

Wait. What was he saying? If only he would stop doing that thing with his tongue. It was making it beyond difficult to concentrate, but when his words finally registered, a tornado of need swept through me. Oh, my god. He wanted to sleep with me? Don’t freak out. Do I want to sleep with Kieran?

Yes! Yes! Hell yes!

But I needed to make one thing very clear. Waves of tension mounted inside me, as Kieran continued to rain succulent kisses down my throat, and over my neck. My fingers pressed at his chest, and I could feel myself slowly going under again.

No, not yet. You have something to tell him.

I applied pressure. “Wait.” His mouth was reluctant to leave the alcove of my neck, but he peered down at me with heavily lidded eyes. “You need to know something before this goes any further.”

“I want to make you mine,” he growled, his eyes glowing brightly. “And I can feel how much you desire me.”

Damn emotional bond.

His head dipped to take possession of my lips. He wasn’t going to make this easy. My body was already leaning back toward him, but I pulled myself together.

“Kieran, if you kiss me again, I won’t get this out, and it’s important.”

He had to know that I had feelings for the others. He would have sensed it, so what I was about to say shouldn’t be a surprise.

I hoped.

Taking a shaky breath, I prepared to say what was on my mind. “I need you to know that whatever happens between us, it doesn’t change my feelings for the others.”

His lips skimmed my jaw. “I know.”

It took me a moment to respond. “And you’re okay with that?”

He gave a one-shoulder shrug. “For the first time in a hundred years, we have hope, and it is because of you. I don’t know how this will work with the four of us, but I do know I need you in my life.” Kieran stroked the pad of his thumb over my bottom lip, and I shuddered.

Good enough for me. I’d figure the other stuff out later.

Before I even finished nodding, he was kissing me. Leaning into his lips, my mind sighed. Finally. But my body was not appeased.
